Mariculture
Mariculture defined as the activity of cultivating the sea to promote the development of plants or animals, in selected areas of the sea (excluding land and ponds in using sea water, especially for shrimp). With this, we have agreed that the responsible artisanal fishing and gathering in areas pre-determined for it, are a form of mariculture because it implies an open resource management-which can lead to release of juveniles, resiembra of shellfish and other activities aimed at sustainability and to increase the resource.
Thus, mariculture is the cultivation of fish, molluscs, crustaceans and other animals, algae and even our floating garden.
