Algae

The cultivation of seaweed (macro-algae or "seaweeds", not the micro-algae, at least for now) deserves a special section within mariculture. This is so both because they are plant because its potential is probably much higher than the cultivation of animals. We postulate that the alga-culture is the foundation of a new agriculture in the sea, that will bring profits in food, other products and bioenergy in particular.
